Radiesse® is an innovative product that has been used for many years in prosthetic implants in dental, facial and orthopedic surgery. The filler’s main ingredient is calcium hydroxylapatite, a normal constituent of the bone and, hence, it is very well received by the body and is unlikely to cause significant inflammatory or immune reactions. As an improvement to collagen injections, Radiesse® does not require allergy testing.
This filler is approved by the FDA and is most commonly used to fill facial folds, deep creases, and areas where facial volume has been lost due to aging or fat loss.
Radiesse® treatments are performed in our office by Dr. Hubbell, and usually take less than 30 minutes. At the time of your treatment, the areas to be treated will be gently numbed. Then, Radiesse® is gently injected just under your skin. Your results are immediate with very little swelling.
The results of Radiesse® are typically very impressive and last for many months. Some touch-up treatments may be necessary, but are not typical. A very positive additional factor in using Radiesse® is that patients don't have to come back every three months, and all the while, they still look great!
